Description After she took her partner's picture, Ensign O'Malley joined her at the intermix control for their late-night duty assignment: routine integrity checks of the console/conduit interface and surrounding area, to make certain there was no leakage of either radiation or material from either conduit.

--------

Of course, it's really just an excuse to show off the ladies in their engineering duty uniforms, not to mention trying a less-conventional angle to view the location.

--------

Both ladies are wearing Oshikai's Aiko Retro Skirt w/ his freebie Star Trek materials.

Nah, she's just chillin' on the grate while she checks the readings on her scanner (frankly, I have no idea what a "dynamic mode converter" is or what it would be used for - but it's a cool tool ).

It's the boots. And the hair.

I wanted to make this space a little claustrophobic, along with a bit vertiginous - a great and terrifying combination . They're approximately 3 stories up, and able to see all the way down to the main floor. And not a single fermentation vat in sight ...

Now I'm just waiting to see what reason you come up with to display our lovely engineers here in just the shortened tunic... I'm hoping I'm not the only one who thought of it

Or ... are you suggesting they should be seen a bit more immodestly?

Me? Suggest. No. Never... maybe... ok yeah.

Ahhh, but look closely - they are not in just the shortened tunic . They are also wearing trousers, tucked into the tops of their boots. I didn't want to expose their modesty, working up there above the main floor with only a steel mesh to separate them from prurient eyes - plus, it makes sense that in Engineering, the ladies might require a uniform that protects more of their exquisite skin .

As I recall, we've seen something like that uniform on screen in the original show... albeit, the trousers appear to have been pulled over a standard minidress uniform, rather than converting the minidress into a tunic.

However, I do like the idea that the "tunic" is the true form of that uniform.

I might have to play with that later. MDBruffy pointed me over to the Aiko RetroDress, and I've worked out how to make it work with DAZ's Genesis figure.

I always thought putting girls in miniskirts on wire catwalks, (or better yet, zero-g) WAS the whole idea.
