Description This one is many many years old, I warn you now...and of one of my still favorite (obscure) video gaming characters.

I was on a kick years ago to try drawing some characters (original and established) in more modern/contemporary outfits/styles, including Alisia Dragoon here (from the Sega Genesis game by GameArts of the same name). Maybe it wasn't a good idea, but I do think (and like) some facets of her look here that I think fit her character design (and match a little of her normal outfit).

This pic? Eh, self-inspired from back when I had a really slow dial-up connection. Alisia's getting impatient as she waits for the damn thing to connect to the internet...

...

...of course, if Alisia was REALLY pissed at a machine, she'd shock and short the hell out of it.

Pardon the so-so table and computer, the focus was, of course, Alisia herself. ^^

Enjoy.

Ooooh very nice. Just about the body, uhh is it just my wacky imagination or does the part under her top look wrinkly? Very nice drawing though.

Thanks. ^^ If you mean the top itself, those are just creases/folds. If you mean her skin below the top (her belly), those are just a few 'muscle/curve' lines.

Thanks much for the feedback. Yeah, the table/computer are kinda flaky, I know. I was mostly focusing on Alisia and her 'new' outfit here. ^^

I remember all too well what it's like to have a slow dial-up connection. That was untill 2002 when we switched to Cable Internet.

I can sympathize for Alisia, though, as patience never was never my strongest point. Someone I know online suggested I try meditation, and shortly after that, in the video games Mercenaries, you can hear the CO telling one of her agents, who states that waiting is not his thing, to try meditation, as she's 'heard it helps.'

Also, Alisia doesn't deserve to be this obscure, she'd make for a kickass fighting game character, or maybe an RPG character?

PsylisiaDragoon In reply to Lauren-Tyler [2006-02-09 17:22:51 +0000 UTC]

It's hard to tell how patient Alisia would 'really' be as we don't learn enough about her...the game needed some cinemas.

As for obscurity, well, it's all up to GameArts to bring her back. Assuming they don't lose her to being bought out by FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Squeenix like Grandia 3 ended up.

Lauren-Tyler In reply to PsylisiaDragoon [2006-02-09 20:01:53 +0000 UTC]

Squeenix must be looking to become the Donald Trump of the RPG Gaming industry. As if indefinitely delaying FF7: Advent Children in the US was bad enough for them (not that I care frankly, but still)

And as for poor Alisia, she doesn't deserve to be taken by Squeenix, she deserves a LOT better!

Heh, perhaps that's for the best.

This drawing is simply brimming with character; I love it. I don't know quite how to describe it; charming, I guess, like scamwich said below.

Heh, heh, yeah, I ought to do a pic similar to the one I have of Yuko Ahso relaxing playing her own game (elsewhere in my gallery here) with Alisia. I like the bracelet too...it fits her. ^^

Hey ... pretty good! I love that hair, all spiky and rumpled. Where she from by the way? Cant remember this one.

Ah yes, impatience ... the posture does convey that - the crossed feet and steepled fingers. Woooo ... issat a snake arounds her forehand?! Cool!

The only suggestion i would have, is to slightly elongate and differentiate between the toes of her feet. They look a tad bit too scrunched uptogether. But that might be due to the ankle tho'

But a good one in general! Great!

PsylisiaDragoon In reply to Lordfolken [2006-02-09 17:19:17 +0000 UTC]

Alisia's from a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game called, of course, 'Alisia Dragoon' from back in 1992 I believe. Created mostly by GameArts (Lunar, Grandia etc.), it was a bit of a 'gem' back then (IMO anyway) with cool character design, gameplay and an excellent soundtrack.

She's meant to have a bit of a 'wild/nature girl' look (as she had in the game in her regular outfit), which included that crazy hair. That also amounts to the 'snake' on her wrist (which is technically only supposed to be an accessory...tho who can be sure? ) as she had a number of animal/monster friends in the game who stuck with her.

And yes, the legs were actually a weak point in this one, and I definitely screwed up the toes (believe it or not, I was still just learning how to draw them back when I did this old one). She probably deserves an update though.

Much thanks for the feedback. ^^
