Description Seriously now.
I've been seeing so much "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN DON'T LOOK" crap around the internet.
Yeah, well, I WISH I COULD. Every-damn-where
I go it has somehow been infected with an excessive shitload
of fluffy-puffy-froo-froo-sakurapetals-sakurapetals-kissu-kissu-shiny-bubblies-kawaii "boi lovez". I understand that people like it...now I may not understand WHY in hell they do, but yeah I know people like it for some reason that, even if explained thoroughly to the point where it hurts, I will never. Understand. The appeal.
And I could care less if it weren't for the fact that it's crowded
the site I'm on like some sort of illness.
If I could not see it and avoid this crap I'd be just peachy. But.
I can't.
It's like saying it's easy to ignore a basement flood that's up to your chin, and instead of water, it's this bright-ass, neon, glowing liquid.

PLEASE NOTE...
This is MY DAMN OPINION. And MAYBE others. I'M NOT SAYING
THAT JUST BECAUSE I DO NOT LIKE YAOI THAT EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD TOO. I NEVER SAID THAT. I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK IF YOU LIKE YAOI.
READ BEFORE YOU SHOVE WORDS DOWN MY THROAT.

Obvious enough? :l

The back button is your best friend. Use it and try searching for other things again. c;

If that doesn't work then you're screwed. XD

But seriously, "don't like, don't look at it" is the only thing yaoi fangirls can do to warn you about stuff like that, at least they gave some kind of warning, although I don't think they have to, I mean, I haven't seen a straight pairing warning, why should any other sexuality have a warning on fanfics, pictures, etc? (Unless they put the specific pairing name.)
And censoring yaoi just for people who can't handle it is just stupid, you can't censor everything just because you don't like it.
Close the whole damn window as fast as you can if it bothers you that much lol.

I can respect the opinions of people who don't like yaoi (depending on how they word their opinions) but I think it's amusing how yaoi can get other people so pissed off that they start to exaggerate.Β

True.
I couldn't give less of a ratt's butthole about yaoi itself, but seeing it literally everywhere in the world (of the internet) is what ticks me off beyond words.
For those yaoi lovers out there who say stuff like "ignore it", or "don't look at it". How? Did you not read this person's description of it? ("..instead of water, it's this bright-ass, neon, glowing liquid.") Your eyes may have become immune to it, but some of us aren't as "bright-ass, neon, glowing liquid"-proof as you.

I only ever use my own characters (which are barely even fan characters, more like original in their own right) anymore. Let's just say I got so sick of fan portrayals of a certain character that I couldn't even think about said character anymore without it hurting me emotionally. I have to let go, even if it's long, slow work.

This goes for anything basically. Search one thing, and everything you DON'T want to see is plastered right in front of you. And it's almost as if they can post anything supporting it, and if we say anything against it, it's, "dont liek it don look at it!!!11!!!"

Madame-Rien [2013-08-28 16:34:46 +0000 UTC]

I see your point and I am just tired of people trying to make me like it. I don't mind seeing 2 guys together as long as they are really homosexuals or bi-sexual but it just bothers me at times to see people make every character gay when they are not and get mad when someone says otherwise. I have not seen a subject flood the internet like yaoi has. But I have realized the appeal of Yaoi comes from people who want to be different in society. It is true no matter how much or how many may deny it but it is true.

Because homosexuality is not really a norm and is not accepted really by every society and so this trend of being different and rebelling against the status quo in any way has become popular and thus many turn to yaoi, they may say they like it because the stories are great and guys are hot but that doesn't seem to be the root of why many like it, if it was because of the stories were great then why not create a character of their own and turn them gay? instead of every male character that is copyrighted. My point is they want to be seen as different and there is a lure to do the taboo, they want to stand out from the normal but with so much of them it hardly makes them stand out and I bet if being straight was seen as not the norm and homosexuality was, then they would make every character heterosexual. I am not really a fan of it and its hard to ignore because it seems to be everywhere online but thank God for the back button lol I click it so many times when I'm online

I have so many gay friends who all hate yaoi. I go to conventions with two guys who are engaged and when girls see them holding hands, they run up squealing with their cameras.
This one time one was pushed off the edge by these fuckin' fangirls, he threw her camera in a fountain and slapped her in the face. Hard. With the back of his ring hand.

Elfdragon12 [2010-11-28 03:36:23 +0000 UTC]

The whole yaoi thing is ridiculous. Luckily, my closer friends realize that I am not into this yaoi thing and generally respect that. However, it's inescapable and sometimes with the WORST CHARACTERS EVER. I'll be searching for fanstories and fanart and then I see an abomination attack my eyes and I give a little scream to myself. What's worse is when they don't warn you and then two characters that would never touch each other in such a way in a million years start making out. WHY?! Why did this ever occur to someone as a good idea?

Not to mention my over-active imagination conjures characters to my mind and I end up having to explain to them why I won't let them visit fansites cause I don't want them to have a mental break-down or break my computer.

And what makes me incredibly nervous about publishing my own stories (which has been a dream of mine) is that this will happen to my characters. It will be unavoidable. I certainly can't say 'no fanfiction and no fanart' because that would make me a giant hypocrite. My imagination conjures up these horrible pairings that strike fear into my heart. Most of my (male) characters have clear definitions to their relationships. Hate, respect, friendship, rivalry... It is just sad that (some) fangirls can't seem to respect platonic relationships anymore. What about the magical love and bonds of friends? Why do they think that a love between homosexual characters in any deeper than a love between heterosexual characters? ... Oh wait, I think I already know. Because it's so 'hawt'.

Sorry, long rant is long, especially on something that you've probably forgotten about for now.

My Mom thinks I'm ridiculous for it, but I'm allowed to be nervous because I don't want them to shit all over my characters. It's not unfair either because I'm putting into mass public anyway.
Homosexuals and heterosexuals are the same thing except one sexuality has two weiners/tacos. Homosexuals kill. Homosexuals abuse. They do everything heteros do because they ARE PEOPLE. Ugh...

Elfdragon12 In reply to Psyko-Kinetics [2011-01-01 04:42:06 +0000 UTC]

It didn't help that my friend decided to tease me by saying that she would write a slash fanfiction about two of my characters that have spent years in a hate-filled rivalry and one tried to seduce the other's wife and currently has a strange relationship with the same guy's daughter... Worst thing about that sort of 'shipping' is that they are all generally about the same thing too.

It's just that the public will get incredibly overprotective over the minorities to the point of overcompensation. There was that whole Spirit Day thing a while 'to stand up against bullying'. The only reason it came into being and that purple was the official color was because it was a gay person that commited suicide. It had nothing to do with bullying. I actually put a rant about Spirit Day in my journal.

There was a story about a British officer arresting a priest/parish leader/church leader of some sort for supposedly giving a hateful homophobic rant at the pulpit when all the guy was saying was that the Bible did not support homosexuality. I'm not going to discuss about the Bible, but the officer did abuse his authority in that respect.

I can respect a person that is homosexual, however, I will not bend over backwards for them. My own opinions and believes will stay firm, even if they offend someone else. I don't personally understand why many girls finding two guys making out is hot and I wouldn't deride it if it weren't in my face so much.

I'm kind of at the point that, for some fandoms, I'll read any hetero pairing, even if it doesn't make too much sense, just so I can have some romance to read.
