I feel like Mephelis is tricking Sonic, into leaving by making it look as if all his friends have turned on him, and have hurt him, now Mephelis is now offering Sonic salvation as a savior from the pain Shadow have caused.

It really shows a difference in the way you see their characters (Shadow and Mephiles) by the way their hands are positioned. Meph's hand is open, palm side up. It's an offer. "You CAN come with me, if you wish" and Shadow's hand is grasping and bloody, showing a more controlling persona with a hint of violence. This is what I think it's meaning anyway.

I personally think shadow is about to collapse any time soon. Maybe he was fighting to make sonic snap out of it and is pleading him to stop the hole craziness and to join him. Mephiles in the other hand has no blood and looks like he's been easily manipulating sonic to join his side so he could use the dark power within sonic.
