Description As the title says, second attempt at using photoshop 7.0.
The character Howl, from Hayao Miyazaki's film 'Howl's Moving Castle'.

The thumbnail is so misleading. Its almost funny. It looks best in the smallest size. It's pretty messy, but ah well. The first few photoshop attempts should look scruffiest. The hair messed up when I had to try adding 'shadows'. Pfft, ultimate fail.

Not sure of time taken.

I loved Howl's Moving Castle when I was little. Still do as a matter of fact.
You're right, the first few photoshop tries should look a bit wonky, so you're on the right track. C:
Aw, don't say that. Your 'ultimate fail' shadows makes the hair look interesting and adds texture.
You should be proud of yourself-you're improving. Even if you deny it, slowly but surely you are. heart:

You're very welcome.
Well, right now you're living here, in the present. You're doing the best you can at this time. Later if you look back and are disappointed by what you see, just think of it as a reminder of what you were and that you've improved. C:

Hah, you with your secrecy. Can't hit reply when you hide the comments.

But anyways, listen. You improve with every picture you draw. No exceptions. Nix. None. Nada.

Don't worry, just keep on drawing, and you'll be as good as the pros, faster than you can say "Wow!"

Nonsense.

Would you believe me if I said that I drew like crap just a bit over 3 months ago? It was about then, though, that I really started drawing A LOT. A lot being some 3-7 pieces a day. Now I'm proud to say I can see myself doing some real, quantifiable progress.

Practise MAKES perfect, but you just have to do it A LOT.

I dunno, drawing from life works for me. Find the thing that works for you. (:
