Remember those days when things were animated by hand, artists actually had to be good to be employed in making cartoons and stories actually had something of a plot, even when the show was for kids? Yeah, I miss them too.Modern cartoons can't hold a candle to what I grew up with, art styles included! And, for any 90's kid out there, here's an excuse to be nostalgic for a bit.
You should all know what to do; take a character and redraw them in the style of each show. Have fun and never forget your childhood!

I AGREE! (born in '94) Cartoons today are just sad...I mean it's just random nonsense half the time...oh well...at least, maybe someday people from our generation with talent and taste will be in charge and make GOOD cartoons again

I remembered complexed storylines with edge-of-your-seat cliffhangers and plot twisters.

People realized kids are easily amused, so they just decided to add a bunch of action and explosions. Parents stopped teaching their kids things, so they learned from TV and, as little kid shows got dumbed down, kids stopped being able to pick apart complex story lines. They turned to video games with mindless violence, because that was what was around them all the time in the news and whatnot, and so the TV corporations realized that was what was selling and went with it.

I can understand that.
I mean, I grew up with Resident Evil (or Biohazard), FFVII, Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2, Soul Reaver, and Mario. Now Mario was pretty obvious, but the others? Well, they had storylines that made you think about the story, not play-it-once-then-forget-it, like movies and shows today.
It pisses me off when I see a new cartoon show that has characters you can care less about. Seriously, watch a show and tell me you feel sorry for the main character, or the other characters, or have any care for what the hell is going on.

I agree. Nowadays, kids are watching shows like Adventure Time instead of things like Batman. I hate Adventure Time, personally. It's like a bunch of people on crack decided to make a kids show. It's got no real plot, weird characters and even the art drives me nuts! What happened to the days when cartoon artists actually had to be good at art to get work? Seriously, drives me nuts.

Anyway, I like intriguing plot lines, plot twists, and cliffhangers, like the Legacy of Kain Series as cliffhangers. The JLU series constantly had plot twists, and so did Spiderman.
God, I still watch those too on Youtube.

Me too. When I have kids, I plan to not have cable and just show them shows from when I was their age over the internet or on Netflix.
