Though he is hardly seen so, I wanted to draw Near smiling happily, without him looking like a pervert. XD I think I succeeded. I tried to colour it but it never looked so good again so I am posting the original.Near © Ohba and Obata

It happens, don't worry about it. I even commented on some pictues twice without realizing I did before. XD
Tips on shiny.. check out my tutorials maybe, I use 3 shades of every colour and then additional tools like Levels or Curves and occassionally Dodge tool for extra shine (works best for yellows/gold).
I have one but it looks awfully OOC. XD I first will think of a situation in which he may laugh to get it more natural.

I made some for GIMP because I was forced to learn it and then it became my favourite and not many people were familiar with it then.
It is hard to explain how the tools work, you would have to play around in the program to see what they do. Better editors like GIMP and Photoshop have them. Simple MS Paint not.
Maybe a situation will come up in a RP we play.
