Oh, YGO DM?
DM is done very well, even with the filler arc. Love the characters, especially Seto Kaiba.
Zexal's alright, it starts off a bit ??? but gets a lot better after ' v'
And Arc V was the opposite, starts off a little like GX, then quickly gets a lot better--- aaand then it falls apart and you shouldn't have watched it :^)

I can't remember the episodes exactly, but I got super into Arc V once Sora appeared.
GX is my personal favourite because of the parallels it has to growing up and the shift from school life to real life.
But also because it has my favourite characters like, Jaiden (once he's in season 3 and 4), Johan, Edo, Kaiser, Jim-- I could go on actually, I liked a lot of them.
I don't know much about 5Ds because I watched bits and pieces but not all of it - I heard it's very good, but there's not much plot to it, especially since the plot had to be rewritten in a short time, so it focuses more on duels and action.

From what I've heard, GX has a lot of problems with the plot. 5Ds I have a gripe with, because I've heard that they made changes to it to appeal more to the mainstream audience instead of some very interesting choices like Crow not actually being a protagonist (?). I take these with a grain of salt but still... And really? Once Sora appeared? I still thought it was stale.. and the Action Cards nor the duels are really convincing lolol, at least Zexal has some sort of special power to draw the card you want. :l

GX's dub had a lot of issues since it changed a few things and never released its season 4, so Jaden pretty much "dies" in the dub since you don't see past that LOL
Otherwise I was alright with the plot, or I'm blind, either one.
I really liked Crow as a character, Yusei is the protagonist in 5Ds, but he I think the focus is more on Jack? I didn't watch 5Ds enough so I can't say for sure.
Ayeee, Sora was a little smug child, and for a good reason, find out he's a spy from the fusion dimension and when Shun and Yuto get introduced, things start to perk up since the plot starts to unfold. But eh, dropping it wasn't a bad choice, the plot doesn't get played out well imo with the characters after, especially in the Synchro arc :U
I'm not much for the whole "special power" to draw your cards since it feels like cheating to me, playing your cards right is what I enjoy (then again, action duels did make it unfair with the action cards) but I do like the new characters' decks like the Raidraptors, Phantom Knights and Frightfurs.

Sorry, I didn't mean Crow was not "the protagonist" but rather one of the main characters. I understand how you're not for the whole special power.. honestly Zexal Weapons were just a convenient way to win against the OP af enemies. Honestly.. playing your cards is one thing, but draws are also mostly dependent on luck and how you've built your deck. If one is looking for pure strategy in the anime, it's not going to work lol. This is why I call Yu-Gi-Oh a guilty pleasure. I still get the most enjoyment out of the first series, but even then Yu-Gi-Oh is something I wouldn't really spend much time on.

I have to disagree with you there, a waste of time would be what you're doing right here: Presenting your opinion as fact and believing I'd somehow be swayed by your words to draw what you think is cool.
I'll ramble on about Yu-Gi-Oh and how it's actually not a waste of time:
- Ever played the TCG? It's actually very entertaining, it's an elaborate game of rock paper scissors, yes, but also playing your cards right, timing, and mind gaming your opponent. Plus, you can just play it online, there's no need to actually waste money on cards.
- "Wasting" is subjective to the person.
- If you've actually watched the show and explore the themes, it plays on very interesting lessons; GX is a parallel to growing up, the shift from school life to real life, 5DS plays on a dystopian setting and it's what you make of life that matters, Zexal is an exploration of oneself and what defines your identity, and Arc V is a huge mixture of themes due to it including a huge cast of characters and worlds.
- The creators of the series and show take an extremely long time to nail down characters, plot, their decks and playstyles. Did you ever consider how each of the artworks featured on the cards was drawn by someone? The cards have to be created and with useful diverse effects but NOT game breaking - it's difficult to keep the balance of new, vialbe, yet not broken.
- Now you also have to consider how animation itself takes ages, the animators work far too many hours due to Japan's work ethic and standards, but they're not just drawing standard people, they're animating unique designs of monsters from the cards.
- There's also the voice actors involved, did you know that the ending "Future Fighters" in Arc V is sung by the voice actors of Yuya and Reiji? There's a lot more to the show than just "a children's show".
Also, you can't insult Yu-Gi-Oh by calling it "Yu-gay-oh" because the show is already confirmed gay with Judai and Johan being the official pairing in GX.Β
And finally, I don't give a flying fuck about if you're happy or not, if my art doesn't please you, move along, you're far too irrelevant for me to consider pleasing. What, did you think you had any significance? Aren't you pretentious.

And I found him very realistic too, he wanted to duel and make people smile, but he still harboured hate towards fusion because of what they did. OH, and his dynamic with Shun made them such a likeable duo ; v;

In the manga, it's like, from what I remember my sister telling me: Yuya is a duelist from the future, and is a mysterious entertainment duelist called Phantom, he's being hunted down by the other characters, like Reiji, Shun and Sora. I'm not sure what Yuya's goal is (//checks wiki-- HE'S HERE TO FIND A GOD CARD //slapped).
ANYWAY, the other Yuus are doing the Yami Yugi, and they take over sometimes and aid Yuya. They sort of argue and talk with each other in Yuya's mind too ' v'
But they're Yuya's brothers, just Yuya doesn't know (I think his memories were wiped?) and they don't want him to know because they're going to disappear or something ;; But they're not telling him for his sake.Β

omg miracle restoring haunts me??? I always get it in my hand and im just siiiigghhh does it look like i have spell counters on the field :/ SAME WITH THOUSAND KNIVES-- cards like that, I never get Dark magician in my hand when I need him!
I feel that Yugi's deck has a lot more specific cards than Kaiba's and that's what makes it more tactical??

Ayeeee, though it'll be a pain for me playing irl to remember "I CAN DO SOMETHING" or "I CAN COUNTER THAT, WAIT" -- I've already forgotten to activate effects on my standby phases, or I forget I can destroy my friend's monster on summon with trap hole :'^)

True true! Though Kaiba's deck seems to be heavy focus on getting Blue Eyes onto the field, and doesn't have a strong spell strength? I can just go "lol mage power" or "black pendant :^)" which helps buff up my side. And it seems focuses on having an empty-ish hand and decent sized graveyard? With the card that gets attack per monster in the grave, and a monster which is stronger with one or less cards in your hand?
But both decks work very well simply - I think they both have their own tactics so playstyle matters depending on which one you use.

HAHA YES ME TOOOOO!! my biggest issue with play irl- i cant keep track of everything happening on the field!! like...what if i have 8 spell counters?? or i get one at the start of every turn but forget to count and fhjkdljskl and trap timings and all that!! me!! i feel you!!
ahh yes yes, something like that! i found kaiba's deck more monster attack heavy errr you know the term beatstick? yeah that- whereas yugi's relies on (equip) spells to match that attack power- idk like?? i think yugi's requires more tact and luck;; maybe that's just cos idk what im doing though LOL (i mean, i do kinda but........ygo irl is different from online platforms haha)
