Thanks so much for the tip, but I do have to say that however strange it might seem, I’m not particularly into scanning the world for decay, although I often kind of find myself exploring it. I am however always trying to find places or sceneries that have a story or have something that I can use aesthetically or conceptually, and I often find these “stories” in places that in some way are forgotten or left behind. But I’m not an urban explorer type at all. I’m not into the sport of exploring derelict environments for the sake that they are derelict, and for the sake to show others that I have been there. The aesthetics of decay is however appealing to me because it almost always carry a story about life long forgotten. These traces are at the core of why I’m attracted to decay, not the decay itself. But having said that, I will visit Belgium if I can afford or have my trail past the country, so thanks again…

Maybe stories are what draws us spoilt westerners to decay in the first place. There's not much story in buying something new when you need it and throwing it away when it no longer meets the standards of flashiness. Perhaps the poverty of the future will be a poverty of stories. Or is that future already here?
