One of the Pinocchio from a book (made by the Grimm brothers) Heβs very rude on the book, (I would say more then the original story) because In the anime he didnβt made in propose and on the original book it was made on propose to kill cricket, any of the Pinocchio stories Β I saw and specially their designs are awesome.
Your art itβs awesome.

I kinda wanna make a comic where a bunch of people are whining at book Pinocchio for wanting to kill the cricket with a hammer, then he just picks up the cricket from the wall and throws it at them and they freak the fuck out because the cricket is coming at them buzzing loudly and they frenetically stomp it down. lol

Sweet goodness! Disney's is the only one that didn't kill his Cricket (Even if it's normally an accident)
Te-he, I recently watched "Mokku" and I've really loved it, I have to admit it was a nice surprise; it was the first Pinocchio story I've seen more than just a few minutes of since I was 7 (that has it's own story) and I know how 70s anime can be, so I was a bit worried going into it, but it's grown on me (I've actually started campaigning for Discotek to license it)

i REALLY like mokku, i wish i could find it subbed anywhere!! its really between mokku and 1972 pinocchio for my second fave pinoke incarnation (the disney one will always hold a special place in my heart as my Number One Son)
has discotek shown any interest? i feel like it's definitely worth it on their part tbh

1972? So then both of your second favourites were made around the same time (^.^) I've seen a bit of the Disney version again too, and it seems like a matter of having a different type of appeal; the Disney version seems by far the most sweet and innocent version. It seems Mokku is sort of in a middle ground between Disney's version and the original book; nicer and wants to do the right thing more than in the book, but with a stubborn and selfish streak the Disney version doesn't have (Still cute though....plus no whale/shark scene)
Though the big obstacle to finding Mokku fansubbed is that the Japanese version's never actually had a full home video release, about 20 episodes were released on VHS in the 90s and when DVDs first came out Tatsunoko released 9 episodes on 3 DVDs (1, 2, 3, 10, 23, 28, 36, 44, and 52, I know there's at least some overlap with the VHS episodes), they did that with a few other series and a couple got another batch of 9 episodes, but Mokku didn't. I even tried checking the Italian amazon & ebay websites in case they had released it (One of my friends is a big fan of retro anime and taught me this one, the Italian dubs usually leave the episodes in tact and include the Japanese audio and release an entire show, so if you can't find an anime on the Japanese websites, Italy usually has it) and they didn't have it either, which is a bit ironic considering most of the show takes place there, it seems the only version to be fully released is the French dub which doesn't have any other version.
And I'm not sure about the company as a whole, but I was at a convention recently and spoke with somebody who works there and he agreed that it would be perfect
Though Discotek isn't the only option; Tatsunoko has been uploading some of it's older series on youtube (though you have to both use a browser redirector and pay to watch the videos and I'm not sure if you actually can do both and they haven't gotten to Mokku yet either way) and there's also a company in Japan (TC-Entertainment, I believe) that's been releasing HD Remasters of a whole bunch of retro Anime and live action shows since 2012 and the 75 they've done so far include some of Tatsunoko's other shows from that time, it's not anniversary specific either (Kerokko Demetan got a release last year and that came out in 1973) which is good since they've announced everything being released until August and I wouldn't want it to be another 5 years. So yes, it would be great if Discotek released the dub and original like they've done with other dubs from then, but in a pinch I just need a release and I could translate it myself

Oh my god, that's great news! You're so lucky to be working at a disneyland resort! (I finished my first year of college too. Finals are hard work...D: )Β
And nice art! It's funny how Pinocchio is so nice in the Disney version while other Pinocchios, including the original, are assholes

oh no, really?? :^( what department were you trying for? for a lot of the audition roles it's just based on talent, not work experience.
im going to be there for two weeks, starting exactly two weeks from today, haha! :>
aww, well, they're all good in different ways. like the 1972 pinocchio is my favorite actual adaptation of the original story, because it keeps the original story almost to a T! disney's pinocchio is very cute, but quite different from the moral and outcome from the original story.
