Description A heart once steely and cold,
Warms to this new girl
Who breaks the pattern.

She sees I am more than simply
Muscles and fashion
My heart's shackles slowly unfasten.

This woman has come to see,
The kinder soul within me.

I try to divert her fair eyes
With lies and trickery,
Yet I am powerless
To fight this affinity.

From now I can only sink
Deeper.

Her eyes hid both a sad struggle
And playful demeanour.

From which her pure heart emerges.

And so I fall in love again,
But this love I feel,
Is not the same.

A love more chaotic,
A love deep and raw,
A love which has passed through trial
And endures.

A love which is honest,
Almost painful,
And mature.

With her kiss I feel alive,
A part of me I thought had passed away
Is instantly revived.

In her love,
I convalesce.
In her smile,
I can fly.

Her embrace was all I needed to feel,
To confirm what I'd hoped
Yet believed too surreal.

Despite searching to find a lover both nearby
And overseas,
It was just an ordinary Summer night,
When my soul-mate found me.
