Re-drawing of my oldest Pokémon OC; like I think I was ten or eleven when I came up with this guy. Obviously that was before I had a dA, so there's no other art of him on the internet (probably a good thing), but I assure you I've improved since I was a preteen.
Ricardo is just what I named him at the time-- no real reason other than I came across it battling a fisherman in Diamond and thought it sounded good. I didn't think too hard about names back then; now it just makes me imagine he'd sound like English dub Kirby Right Back At Ya's Metaknight and I don't know how I feel about that
Design-wise uhh, he did change a couple times, though none of the major (relatively speaking) changes are recent. Originally he was basically just a Lucario, then he got beefed up and a scar in his side (I think at the time I was like "why do people always put scars on the face? I'm puttin' it somewhere else"), then the scar on his arm (which is actually a kind of weird spider vein-esque thing; it is because of damage though so I think still technically a scar), and then the chip/crack in his chest spike. All I really did this time around was add some round chest fur-colored eyebrows, because I've become attached to drawing bean brows where I once could not draw brows at all. The fluffiness is really more of a style thing, but I guess he's fluffier too. Shading floof is just... really satisfying you guys. He never had a particular set palette so technically that's not a change but yeah, this is actually the first time he's been drawn digitally, so it's been a while. What an edgy man.
