Description Arabian foal (at least what it should be ^^)
reference used : photo from a cover of a horse magazine. (original photo by S. Stuewer)
Graphite pencils : F, 2H, HB and 2B to 5B
About 6-7h I guess
A4 size

I'm not usually a big fan of arabian horses, but this picture had a very interesting lighting and shading. Unfortunalety, it doesn't turn like I wanted, more "pony" than "arabian"...Still practicing in order to improve myself !

The nose is a little crooked and I think it looks more like a pony than arab due to the mass (it has quite wide head and massive neck), but otherwise very very nice and beautiful pencilwork!

Yeah, totally my though on it, more pony than light and thin arab horse ! Maybe because I prefer more massive horse such as draft horse or saddlebred !! Again my constant proportion issue (even more with front head...too wode and not long enough ! Need more and more practice !!Β Β )

Loveliness. I don't know if it's the lighting but the perspective/angle of the cheek doesn't quite seem to match up. Fantastic though

I was thinking of the right cheek, from the viewer perspective. Maybe it is because some of the proportions are thicker than I'm used to seeing on an Arab, I'm not sure.

You'd probably right, I'm not used to draw arab horse...(I usually do more "heavy" horses) this one was a first ! Again my recurrent proportion issue...need to work on it !Β
