it's just what we know

hey will i ever accept Hawkfrost's true cannon personality or will i continually allow myself to fall down this spiraling slide into a false sense of security and brotherly affection? probably the latter. definitely the latter.

hey if you know the lyrics good for you I've been listening to the song non stop and crying about a Hawkfrost AU.

so it goes like this:
Hawkfrost still get's stabbed, still dies. once he's dead though, his spirit is shot out of his body, and he's looking over the carnage of him left. he watches Brambleclaw sob over his body and cry. the realization that he has died hits Hawk hard, and he begins to panic. he stares up at the sky, as he floats above the lake.

later he continues to follow Brambleclaw, and watches as he goes to tell Tawnypelt, and then to riverclan, and tells Mothwing.
at first, she is furious, and actually attacks bramble for killing her brother, but eventually they all three just break down into sobs on the lake shore. Hawkfrost is stunned in silence and just watches.
he ghosts around riverclan for awhile, especially around mothwing, watching her suffer and mourn without him.
he, of course, still ends up in the dark forest. Tigerclaw is kinda proud, kinda indifferent, kinda a piece of garbage, nothing new. but hawkfrost is kind of... disassociated with death. he's going through the motions.
one day as he's walking around, half listening, he kind of just snaps. he begins frantically running and stumbling through the forest, looking for a way out. he stumbles through thick, muddy rivers (Oh starclan where is the water), he scrambles up a rotten tree and breaks through the dead leaves, staring in fear at the starless sky.
he runs and runs and RUNS trying to find a way out, seeing the edge of starclan behind bushes, always a ways away. he scrambles in circles so much, he eventually just starts screaming. he screams out for brambleclaw (why him? he hasn't talked to him in person since his death), over and over again, as he runs. eventually, called in by his brother, Brambleclaw dreams of being on the edge of the dark forest, as hawkfrost bursts through the trees. he pauses for only a moment before breaking down into sobs.

we don't talk enough, we should open up before it's all to much.

he runs over and slams into bramble, grasping his fur.

brambleclaw relaxes slightly and... hugs him back. he strokes his fur and presses in close, trying to comfort his brother.

i cant decide whether to end it happy or not, but that's all I've got so far.

(Somewhat mostly kind of inspired by Acorn-Trees and their cool hawkfrost stuff. go check their art out it's gorgeous)
