Hermione was trying to get away from the pressure of those two love birds sticking their tongues down each other's throats all the time. "Ugh!" she groaned internally, "I need to get away for awhile, from that Won-Won and Lav-Lav nonsense."
She goes to her favorite secret hiding spot, the library nook. She had found it as a first year, as she was looking for more books to read she noticed that in the corner of the library, away from the roaming eyes of the librarian, was a window seat with a wonderful view of the lake. The ceiling was shorter there, and she later found that she could climb the bookshelves and be completely hidden from view. It was a completely abandoned part of the library, and simply perfect for her. She had, over the years, brought up a few really good books and some comfy pillows up there.
She never told Harry or Ron about the spot, though sometimes she would catch herself imagining what Ron would say if she told him. No, it was best to keep this secret part of her life just that, a secret.
As she settled into her little hideaway, she decides to practice her Avis again because she almost had it down pat. Just as she got a rhythm, she heard some giggling of a very familiar sort. "Oh no, it can't be." But it was as she looked down she saw Ron and Lavender almost directly below her, snogging. Thankfully they could not see her, but as she tried to look away, gloomily, she saw that two of her Avis birds were starting to snuggle, talk about adding insult to injury. Annoyed and on the brink of tears she said to them, "Oh, just shut up...."
