Description
The stories behind Asura and Nier share a lot in common (both being fathers trying to save their daughters with generally depressing tones), so I drew Asura in the same style as the previous piece of fanart I've made of him. I've gushed about Asura before, so I shouldn't make you all sit through more of my fanboying over how amazing he is XDNier:

It still hurt to see Asura's Wrath being as unappreciated as he is. I'm afraid Nier has it worse since next to no one has ever heard of him despite having so much in common with Asura

Yeah, I can see that. I tried to go with a shape for the face more similar to Guts since I always thought they look alike. Noted for next time I try to draw him since you're the expert XD

Literally just bought Asura's Wrath now for $7.60 during the Xbox Live sale. Normally I try not to spending my money on anything since I don't have a source of income at the moment, so hopefully the story and characters are enough for me to tolerate the overabundance of QTEs in the game. I'm taking a gamble on your review for the game, Ghost XD. Figured since you took a gamble on NieR, I should do the same for a game you recommended.
Asura looks great in this picture, but the glistening areas, such as his arms, really add a lot to this. Good job coloring these sketches of these two badass fathers

Not gonna lie, it was merely "okay" for me at first since I loathe quick-time events and the story wasn't really doing much for me since Asura got betrayed and his daughter got kidnapped before I got a chance to develop any sort of attachment to either of them. The flashbacks after that helped with that aspect a little bit, though.
Now I just defeated Augus (amazing fight) and the nameless little girl that looks like Asura's daughter died a horrible death because the Seven Deities are bastards. Those two moments, as well as the subtle realization that the Seven Deities aren't making the world better and have, in fact, made it so miserable that humanity has nothing to do but pray for death, have boosted my interest in the game like crazy. I was genuinely upset when the girl died. As in, when Olga fired all those giant missiles and it moved to slow motion I just went "No...no...NO!" and began wishing Asura still had his arms so he could've done something. Losing his mind afterwards was pretty awesome though and now I anxiously await to kill Olga and Deus.
I can already see Yasha's a pretty decent guy so I hope I can spare him from my wrath.
