Description These calm moments never last, we should treasure them as if they were our last. For some of us it will be.

Photoshop + Wacom tablet only (no pencil sketch).

(well, apart from a photograph of clouds I took, distorted to enhance the smoke in the background.)

Wow, absolutely professional-quality, amazing work! Every detail is spot-on and very well thought out. I love the armour design, it is very intricate and appealing. The highlights on the armour and the gradient you used are really well-applied, the detail is mind-blowing. Beautiful profile as well, the character is interesting.

opps, didn't notice the question until now. How long did it take me? ... Far too long 100+ hours or more, spent a lot of time playing around with the armour to get it to shine how I wanted. Learnt an awful lot during this images production.

*sigh* I could spend hours watching that piccy.. I wish I could do something like that... but because I'm dumb or you never explained how to get that metallic shine to objects I'll give up. Nooooo I'll never give up. *quits before anyone gets hurt*

PlatypusGreen In reply to ShanaDragoon [2004-02-22 13:54:26 +0000 UTC]

The metallic shine was created from using a greyscale shaded object and applying a 'gradient map' to it (in Photoshop). If you play around with the gradient maps it should be pretty obvious how to use them and what nice effects you can achieve through them.

This is really good. Using photoshop to edit an existing picture, drawing with a tablet, and then apply photoshop again... brilliant, did I say this was really good?

Edit an existing picture?

It might be because I've been up all night and it's now 8:30 in the morning, but what do you mean exactly.

Oh, and a thank you for your comment too (all of you).
