Description I'm very proud of this one, I think it turned out very well (but the matter of fact that I love deep sea critters may be helping a bit too ). I like the look of particles in the water alot...
And I have no clue how a clamp can evolve into a fish! I gonna try figureing that out...
The super light sensetive eyes of deep sea fish often apper white with a black outerline, if you wonder what I've done with that eye. A glowing predator ain't very good, but the hungtail might use their glow-spots (what's their english name?) to attract mates, light-chock their pery or trick their pray.
Chincho: Wee! Lookie, a friend! Yay!
Huntail: *glops chincho*

Almost forgot... this huntail is called Agnes -^^-
Not the best name for a huntail maybe, but I think it's a very pretty name.
She's one of thouse pokΓ©mon I trained to lv.100 out of boredom and becuse I like the pokΓ©mon so much... have I ever mentioned that I have a lv.100 abra in GSC?
I have to get a life x_X
Atleast a more exiting one...
And stop writing so much crap
Yupp...

Well, clamperls evolve with the DeepSeaTooth. Just looking at them, you can tell they look sleepy, and they appear to be resting on a pillow. Obviously, the clamperl puts the DeepSeaTooth at the bottom of its shell, and, after being traded, it receives a dollar. Since it is still young and not yet fiscally responsible, it uses its dollar on sub-prime bundle defaultages, and ends up losing its home (shell) and moving down to the ghetto (abyssal zone). It's forced to toughen up, grow some muscle, and must kill to survive.
And that's how a clamperl becomes a huntail.

I once had a lvl. 100 Caterpie…

The glow-spots are called photophores.
Love the deep-sea feel!

Ooh, kinda looks like a cross between a viperfish and a gulper eel! The English word for it is Bio-Luminescence, by the way!

I've heard of a particularly interesting theory that Clamperl is actually a tiny fish living inside an empty shell, so it gives the illusion of a clamp.

My Gosh, that's amazing! It looks like an anglerfish, but it's half eel too! That's a nice picture, and it did come out very well.
But if I went fishing and that thing was at the end of my line,
I'd call the Animal Control.

Agnes the huntail, huh? Doesn't look just like huntail, but it's still an awesome luminecent gulper eel type creature! I love the twinkle in its tail spot, and the particles in the water. The only thing I wonder is why does it have nostrils? The real huntail appears to have luminecent spots in front of its eyes, but you've turned them into nostrils, even though fish don't need them.

Like with diglett, the conversation about clamperl makes me want to see an AnnaJ clamperl!

Waaay back, only having seen the pixel-picture of it, I actually thought the two glow spots on its nose was its eyes... Yeah, seriously
I thought it looked cooler that way too, so I stayed to the original impression I had been given by this pokΓ©mon (or I drew this before I had seen official artwork of one).

Looking back at this picture, a viperfish would certainly been a better source of inspiration then a gulper eel.
I also have crustacean versions of this pokΓ©mon-line...

(Most fish have nosestrils (or… smelling sockets would be a better name) so I just slapped them in there for extra detail).

Maybe...the way Clamperal can evolve is that the pearl is like an embryo or something and develops inside the shell!

I've had a similar suggestion from before, and I think that both of your ideas are awesome. I will defiantly use your ideas if I ever draw a clampearl (with credits of course ^_^)

Whee a friend! XD Yeah I think that's silly that they made a clam turn into that thing (or a Milotic. I like Milotics betters myself.) I never saw the logic in how a Shelder (or whatever the heck it's called) turned Slowpoke into a Slowbrow. THAT IS SO NOT A SHELDER ON IT'S TAIL!! Ahem. Yeah.

I figured it just a moment ago! Clamperl has that small white ball in middle of that shell, it could be an egg of Huntail. Oh my simple mind can do such unuseful things.. Pic looks like a critter like that would be in somewhere.

Ooh, that's just awesome! I've though about how clampearl could be related with fish-looking creatures, but your idea solve that mystery in a really smooth way. I might use that in my art some day if it's okay, you would get the credits ^_^

Yup, Huntail is a deep-sea eel thing. (nods) And yeah, I think he's using the bioluminiscent spots (Yup. ^_^) along his body to attract prey, a-la angler fish. Real anglerfish, that is, not things like Lanturn which are more like... well, whales with lightbulb antennae.
