You are indeed very kind. The quote is from Nancy Mitford's novel, Love In a Cold Climate -- very English, yet laugh-out-loud funny. The character Cedric Hampton is a delicious creation.

It is one of those clever English novels that makes fun of the English upper class, but Ms. Mitford is very forward thinking and makes the flamboyant gay character very charming, sympathetic, and he comes out as a success in the the novel.
