Description You might not expect to see a WOLF at a reptile show, now would you? Still, for people who attend reptile and exotic animal shows around the east coast, this girl is a familiar sight. Her name is "Foxy", and she is a seven-year-old Timber Wolf. Her owner is a vendor at many shows and she accompanies him to each event, lying on her blanket behind his vendor table, and being the perfect lady. She give lie to the claims of the anti-wolf, anti-wolfdog people who claim that wolves and high-content wolf-dog crosses cannot be socialized, cannot be housetrained, etc. I've met very few dogs that are as well-mannered as Foxy. Her mother used to travel with her owner and her, but I found out that the older wolf passed away this past summer at the age of 14. Foxy has never been aggressive towards people, or met a stranger, though she DID scare the Beejeezus out of a guy attending the show! He had been talked into going to the show in Columbia, SC, by some buddies, though he clearly was NOT a "reptile person", and he was a bit freaked out by a large Rattlesnake on display on Foxy's owner's table. Foxy chose that particular moment to poke her head out from underneath the table and greet him with a cold, wet canine nose to his leg, causing him to shriek like a two-year-old girl and jump nearly six feet backwards, probably soiling his "tidy whities" as he did! He was absolutely convinced that the thing that came out from under that table was another Rattlesnake, an easy mistake, since wolves look JUST like Rattlesnakes, LOL!

What a lovely animal :] She's got quite a long muzzle... almost reminds me of a borzoi in a way.

I love this picture..I love wolves and anything wolf..
We have coyotes here at my house...they are all cousins to each other..but, I have to agree with what the owner of Foxy Lady said, "They can be trained just like their cousin the K-9, dog...."

Gorgeous. Lovely picture. Thanks for the laughs in the story, too. That would of made one heck of a Funniest Home Video.
