Finally done~ ok face is wider and I just had lots of fun with playing around with the lighting. Snake is such a great character. Like Jack Bauer only way cooler hehhehee. Hope he's manly enough T_T/Thanks everyone! Enjoy~

For this piece, I drew him on paper with pencil first. Then, I scanned the image and used Photoshop 5.5 to clean up any unwanted lines/dark areas. I usually don't do very clean line art in the first place, so I leave some of that in to give the piece more texture and character. (Although part of that could just be plain old laziness haha). If I remember right, I started out by using gradients to color but that didn't work out too well for what I wanted the end product to be. So, I had to repaint the whole thing starting from the darkest color/purplish grey shadows going to the lightest. I added overlays to add more depth to the color and did final adjustments with Hue/Saturation.

I find he looks more like the original Snake from the movies than like the game one, but that's cool.
Only problem I'd see is that the hair size + bandana made the top of his head look a bit too wide.

There's two movies, actually, they're pretty old, but they're not taken from the games, it's more the other way around. 
Hideo Kojima was a fan of the Snake from the movies, so he created the Snake for the game as an unofficial hommage to the movies!
Other than the fact it's unofficial, they're so much the same character that it's hilarious. XD *adores both games & movies, though likes the games even better*
There are other references to the Snake movies in the games too.
(Movies = "Escape from New York" and "Escape from LA".)
As for the hair, don't worry, it's a great pic despite that.

Cool, finally colored - looks really good
The image is a bit too dark on my screen, I needed to lighten it up to see the full details, dunno what screen u r usin.

Yes, I have problems with dark coloring and it coming out on screen all muddy. I wanted it a bid on the dark side to give it atmosphere... but it might be also due to me working on another comp that it turned out too dark. Monitor just says Samsung SyncMaster 173s. No idea lol what that's about. Sorry you had to fiddle with screen to see it. Will keep in mind next time I do something similar.
Cleaner lines? XDDDD yes I think that would have helped, but I couldn't picture him being super clean and well defined...
