I pray no one ever has to experience this. I know this pain. This pain of loosing a family member (my sibling and best friend in life) and watched what the loss did to my own mother, and it never really leaves you.*NOTES FROM THE ARTIST*
This was thee HARDEST comic for me to make and I think will be the hardest for a long time. I had to recall a lot of unwanted memories so I could get the acting choices down in with Derpy and Twilight. I was not expecting the emotions that followed and had a similar breakdown. I hope it shows through with the characters and poses I chose. I am emotionally drained, and am in dire need of sleep. Goodnight.

Losing someone that you love, specially someone like your daughter or son is really devastating, I know that feeling, i lost a cousing 2 years ago and i had the disgrace of seing his mother destructed by it, last two panels really capture that feeling, i gotta admit that.
Also, the surprise factor is really strong in this one, i can see why so much people are having a severe case of feelings, it starts like a really happy documentation of Dinky's life with her mother, then it punches you in the face with the last 3 panels, really amusing, i'm giving you 5 stars for this.
However, every good piece has it's flaws, and ironically this comes from those last two panels, you see, Derpy and Twilight's expressions at the end are.. kind of awkward, they look too much human'ish, specially Derpy, it looks like someone copy pasted a Japanese comic man's face and then put it on here, no offense by saying this, but it killed the surprise factor of Dinky being dead, I actually gave a laugh at Derpy's face.
All i gotta say is, nice job, please keep getting better at your drawing tecniques!

This is indeed a truly heart pulling comic. Its never easy when something happens to a loved one and this comic show's just how most would react when brought upon the memories of the past.
This comic makes me sad and I feel how she feels even though I have never experience this in my life. The artist has done a good job in order to make a truly touching piece.
If you read this comic, mixed with a sad song, and I'm sure this will make you cry. Good job on your talent of this comic and skill on tugging on ones emotions.

I am feeling the feels right now. I pray I never have to experience this. If I was always an only child, that'd be one thing. But losing my sister? No way. I couldn't stand that.
About the art.
The panels drawn by Dinky do feel like they were drawn by a small filly. I wondered about her writing but then realized that, if read in the voice of a small child, it works perfectly.
The last panel's faces are a little strange. Twilight's snout is rather squared, as others have pointed out, and Derpy's face looks a little too human. Not just that, but also masculine. It somewhat detracts from the feels, as the viewer just kinda stares at the faces.
Regardless, the emotional impact is still there, and for all the faults in the technique, they still convey distress and sorrow, the proper emotions in this scenario.

This is a powerfull one, sincerely. First time a picture/ comic make me cry. The way it's drawn have a huge impact on the feelings, mostly, for some reasons, with the muffins. They are drawn in a so simple way... it's hard to explain. and the water droplet on top of "momy" is really what made me burst into tears.
I gave you 4.5 stars for technique because the ponies look strange... Mostly with Twilight's nose and Derpy's human-looking face. It kinda ruin the emotions a bit, but I still cried.
If I could, I'd give you 6 stars for Impact.

Wow... just wow... I did actually cry when i read this. When first reading it I thought i would be reading a cute and happy story. But its ok that you did this. No Dinky being dead is not ok. But it adds for the very emotional ending. Enough of an impact for me ,a grown adult, to shed a tear or two. That is beautifully sad. As for the art itself the first coulpe of panels were perfect in representing the vision and look of what you find in a little girl or in this case filly. The last two panels were also good. although Twilights snout is a little awkwardly square. Well done man!

Thanks man, I've received a lot of comments prior that my ponies were too dog like, so I guess I subconciously made them too horse like. I'm still trying to find that happy middle ground that still allows for good expressions. As for the last pannel I was trying to go for a strectched tired face, I guess I missed my intended target a little.
To be honest though, this peice brought about some very unexpected emotions that I wasn't ready to handle. I really appreciate this critique and I would love to make it perfect but, I don't think I have enough emotional strength to go back and revisit this piece right now.

I have to admit, I actually kinda had tears when I saw those last two drawings and realized what this was about. And that's saying something considering I'm not really someone who's prone to crying a lot. I'm mostly really serene about sad moments, but I do get the usual tears of joy from an absolutely heartwarming moment.
So I gotta say, you really freaking did it, hombre. Because to me, there's nothing more tragic than a child dying so early and not even knowing about it. Like seriously, those last two drawings really hit me.

This hit me hard, not that I have ever had a daughter. This is just similar to myself and my mother; she was sick for 4 years and passed away when she was starting to get better, she caught pneumonia.
