Description Well, I'm happy to say that I've finally started using references

It really helps, and it's so much more educational! I also tried to make colors a little richer/deeper.

Anyway, here's another pantsu drawing. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out~

Yeah, the toes are really short so it kinda looks like weird.. Hmm maybe not duck feet... Pikachu feet? IDK
I'm just nitpicking as usual anyway, try looking at some feet pictures if ya want xD

Ohhh, you're right. As a matter of fact, I was thinking about that as I was drawing it. Hahah.

Feet and hands are always difficult. But, at least you can reference your own while drawing, kinda

Color Deepen & Contrast are your best friends when you want rich colours~ I always play around with those sliders/ levels after I finish colouring a drawing. Its a nifty cheat tool to have handy!

Your anatomy and colouring is improving for sure, though! Good stuff!

DAT ASS, tho

Ooh, I'll keep that in mind!

I was thinking of experimenting with different blend modes, but so far I've only really looked at multiply.

Hehee, yaaay!~ Thanks! Β  I have to say, that finally using references is making me feel like I'm "doing it right" now, if that makes sense.

Hahah

Yeah man, editing colour levels after the fact is the best! Usually all I'd need to do make my colours pop a bit more is to add some Color Deepen & Contrast to my Shading~Β sta.sh/0yvhz311uln (looking back on this drawing now, I dont understand why I didn't do that back then)

Do you use SAI or Photoshop? I know Photoshop has more blend mode stuff/and other tools in general to play with for shading.
But yeah,Β Multiply's where its at! Thats the method of shading I usually go with.

I should be using more refs also, but I dont like drawing at the computer desk. Turning on the comp just to get some refs, and then going back and forth between there and my drawing table is.... its too much work. Im just lazy. :3

But for sure, having refs is hella helpful!

I wanna draw some butts now too... THANKS

Ah, neat! Sometimes I've colored something like hair, but then I change the hue/saturation of it to something I like more.

Oh, I use Krita. I used to use SAI, but to be honest from a software perspective I didn't think it was particularly that good. I use Linux, so Krita is really convenient. It's awesome, too! (I think it's much better than SAI, to be honest).

Anyway, Krita does have a lot of options like that. There are a lot of blend modes I haven't even tried out yet, haha. Before I never used to bother or see the point, but now I think I kinda can.

Ahh, hehe. Well, I'm always at the computer, so it doesn't make a difference for me, haha.

Hahahaa, doo it!

Ahh, fair enough. The reason I like using SAI is because of the lack of software haha. I like the simple layout and tools, which I guess speaks to my simple visual style.

Ive actually never heard of Krita. Cool! My computer runs Windows and Ubuntu, and Ive been looking for a drawing program compatible with Ubuntu. Any idea if Krita would be? Once I find a nice program for Ubuntu, I was gonna start using that OS a lot more.Β

Ah, that's true.

Oh, yes! It will be. It's KDE software, but it will work with any desktop environment. I'm pretty sure you could find it in the Software Center.

Cool! I've never looked back on using Windows, haha

Krita GET!
Just from playing around with it for like 30 seconds, Im really liking it! Lots of pre-set brushes/pens/pencils, it has the same 'Select with Brush' tool that SAI has (one of the main reasons I like SAI so much haha), and the little comic templates are a nice touch too.

Time to start learning how to use Krita now... Goodbye, Windows!

Oooh! Awesome!

On my quest for a SAI alternative, I tried MyPaint before. It's pretty cool, but rather limited.

I also tried GIMP with my very early drawings. Don't go there...

But yeah - the brush engine is very dynamic and customizable in Krita.

Hahaha, who needs Windows in a life without walls!

Lol! GIMP was the only other drawing program I had on the Ubuntu OS, before you told me about Krita. Defnitely glad I found something far better

Ahaha

Yeahh... GIMP is a good program for image manipulation, but for drawing... Meh.

The interface and method of control is just not ideal and intuitive enough for it, IMO. For instance, no canvas rotation, to name just one thing.
