but pulled against the grain / i feel a little pain

Bust of Pink Diamond from Steven Universe – my first complete colored pic with a background in over 15 years! A hundred thousand heartfelt thanks to my darling, beloved boyfriend Fuure , without whom this would not have been possible ;w; From providing me with tablets and software, and coaching me every step of the way in utilizing those gifts, he’s given back to me a drive for making art – a feeling I thought I’d lost forever. I could not have made this picture without his help and generosity, and can’t possibly express how grateful I am <33333

gosh thanks I hope so!!! QwQ I've done plenty of sketches in the past 15 years, and a few pieces were dedicated enough to be lined and colored, but no backgrounds since I was still a teenager.
honestly, this just started off as one of those sketches and I had no idea what it would end up becoming! pink is a deeply personal character to me because I see many of my own flaws and mistakes in her, so she's very much a comfort character for me. she's a symbol of what i've been and what I can become because I'm capable of growth! so in retrospect I think she was kind of the perfect subject for a full comeback.

i believe she recently said she likes seeing artists being inspired to draw because of the show, so i think it's true! i also relate to pink for similar reasons, and that's why i'm praying we'll get to hear at least one more positive thing about her before future is over, or at least get steven to not completely despise her...
