The North-West of The Continent is dominated by the Voda Irokogat and her seven daughters. On these eight rivers are the Kivren peoples. Semi-nomadic tribes that consist of all races but have a distinct and separate culture. They travel most of the Voda (lit. water), making trade with the Dwarves from the Empire and the towns and cities dotted along the rivers. The towns and cities are mostly old human regions much like those in the South-East of The Continent. Kivrens are known to indefinitely settle down in these urban environments as well.
The largest river cities are Frostengrave along the river Voda Burstuden (lit. cold swift water) and Nostel near the easten tip of Voda Irokogat. Frostengrave is positioned south of Ruins of Akust which are said to be home to monstrosities. The city is also a major trading post for the nearby Dwarven city of Khu Todir.
Notable is also the town of Udenvot. This is a town of dark reputation along the river Voda Nostel Reda (lit. the waters that bring harm). Few Kivrens travel along this river, preferring to travel Voda Nostel Rana (lit. the waters that bring food) into the open waters of the northern sea and make port at Dovasta.
Like most of the continent there is a strong Dwarven Empire presence in Kivre. Their city of Thonbuhr is most notable as it is entirely cut off via underground passage ways from the rest of the Empire. It is assumed, and rightly so, that the ways to the city lay to the east beyond the dark and corrupted cities that reside under those terrible mountains. Access to Thonbuhr is reliant entirely on the Kivren. For the Dwarves, it is entirely worth this reliance. Thonbuhr is home to lucrative mines and expeditions, although fraught with danger, can yield great riches. This has allowed the Kivren to become wealthy and influential themselves, something the Dwarven political class are not entirely comfortable with.
In the south of the region are three bustling Dwarven cities that lead towards the heartland of the Empire. There are also three ports on the western coast. They trade mostly in areas to south and facilitate larger cargo from Frostengrave. There are tales told in these ports of strange ships sailing further to the west and north. They say that Elves, who the Dwarves generally know to be savage barbarians that dwell in forests, skilfully sail these ships in waters the Dwarves dare not go. The Kivren are aware of the Shinhoven Elves as many of the Elves and Dwarves in their culture can trace their lineage back to that region. The Kivren keeps this information from the Dwarve of the Empire. Mostly as they regard the nuances of their culture to be theirs and of no business of Imperials, who they’d rather exploit.
