4.2.... I prefer 3 or 3.5, but my first character "Boxter Rapp'd" was a half-elf ranger. ^^

I had an argument with a guy about which was better. He prefers 4E which makes characters in 3E look like peasants. I reckon version four's too high-powered.

Agree completely. I stopped playing 4E with my other group after Straud was killed over and over again in his coffin and then finally decimated with the world's biggest fireball. I felt extremely un-prepared while 3 other players anihilated EVERYTHING in one shot using too much fire, too strong of ice magic, or instant teleportation. I was not amused.

Yeah... But the biggest rule is the Dungeon Master says what happens. If I don't want my players to get something, it won't matter how many times they roll a 20. ^^

A lot of my writing is done with 3E or 3.5 combat rules. ^^
