A common misconception is that ahuman (or human-like) being, when portrayed as a pony, would retrain a fur color that looks very much the same as their skin color. Equestria Girls does this as part of its artstyle, doesn't mean that it's supposed to be universal. After all, humans in real life seldom have skin colors beyond the standard shades of brown. Ponies are rarely portrayed as being snything but diversive in terms of fur color.
Beaides, all of this, you'd have to trust that you're actually portraying fur. This should go without saying, but if you don't keep this into account whenever depicting a character, it will result in plausibility issues. As of now, the fact that you didn't trust in them being fur results in them looking like skin, instead. You'd be surprised as to how powerful a simple trust happens to be...
