About your information on Batwoman, that's half true.
Originally, Batwoman was a character from the Silver Age of comics along with her niece Betty taking the identity of Batgirl (yes she was Batgirl before Barbra Gordon) they fought crime together; Think of them being the Minnie Mouse & Daisy Duck to Batman & Robin's Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck (being just female versions & love interests of the male characters).
However as you might expected, their relationships didn't go very far. So Batman ended up with Catwoman (along with Wonder Woman & Talia Al Ghul ), Robin/Dick Grayson ended up with the other Batgirl Barbra Gordon (and Starfire), Betty became the Phoenix, and Batwoman/Kathy Kane.....she was killed off along with Ace the Bat-Hound and Alfred (at one point).
Thus they later revived her into the Batwoman here now.
Honestly, the idea of Batwoman would been better if her universe is a gender-bent dimension instead of being a part of the same universe as Batman (like what they do with "Adventure Time" ).
