I've still a chamber in my heart for Ninja Turtles. Right Don?Guess I need to add this. I KNOW Don has a red bandana in this pic... since I drew it. Back in the roaring 80s, all 4 turtle had red bandanas. I was being " old school ". I actually debated on whether or not to make it red or purple. I like both for the record.

And since you bring it up.. Where I grew up in the north of Europe the first Don wore the purple bandana, from 1990 forward. The original series with all red ones wasn't released before 93. meh! Sooo, at first glance I thought this was Ralph, but Cool Don!...

You do know that the original turtles comic came out in like '83 or '84 though right? It was black & white but, the covers were in color.

Sure, I got 2 of the original (translated) Turtles in black in white. I was really lucky to stumble upon them though. They were released here 10 years to late and by a rather small publisher which ment I couldn't find them in my local store. I picked them up from a flea market around 96-98. On the other hand, very few american (or any nowadays..) comics makes it over here.
When it comes to comics I'm really jealous of everyone that grew up in the states.

I liked the turtles back in college, when they were a comic by Eastman & Laird. I lost interest after seeing the TV cartoon. It just wasn't the same. Anyway, I get the bandana bit. They didn't start out color-coded.

I got into turtles seemingly the day before they got popular in '89 or '90... whichever year it was. It's kinda funny that they felt the need to cover their identities that way.

Ah. Ya see, if you didn't know, when the turtle comic first came out in... '84 I think, they all had red bandannas. I really thought about giving Don a purple one but I wanted to go all old school. Forgive me if you knew this already.
