Hey! Super son! Nice to hear from you Dave. Thanks for the comment on my shot.

How you doing? I mentioned you getting another tat here, and everyone thinks I should get one, too. I might think about the branston pickle but it will cost a fortune, being bespoke. We will see.

What are you up to today? I'm off doing a talk for samaritans this morning, then off to work this affy.

I'm looking after Harvey tomorrow and Friday. He has got chicken pox.

Hope you are ok. Remember to let me know if you ever want to come home for a break....

Daddy.....

Thanks, Gayle, it was a bloody good day. Motivated me to get out and about more. I haven't really done much since my heart surgery, but today, and the coming of Spring have really made a difference.

Wow, very dramatic sky. Pity the sun is so blown out. But all in all a very nice and moody photo

I was a bit peed off about the sun. I have some ND grads in my bag that I think might have helped save it, but they are in a part that unzips. I went to get hold of them, and saw that I had taken off the bottom bit of the bag. Never done that before. Must have done it to save weight, because I was also toting a holga, lubitel, 35mm slr and a polaroid. I was like a bloody Himalayan sherpa!

Ah my poor lad!! Maybe this will cheer you up then?

That Holga and Lubitel, vintage ones or new??
What do you need 2 bloody lomo's for anyway?? You can easily lighten up the weight even more and send one to me. Preferably the Lubitel

If I stop using a camera for any reason I tend to give them away. If I stop using the lubi I know where it will find a good home.

That would be great, but only if we could sit at that kitchen table of yours afterwards and talk about what a great day we had.

My holga is new, but the lubi is an old one, and my ricoh 35mm is one I bought new in about 1978. I have used the hell out of it, but it is like new, and the 50mm prime is brilliant.

I had two lomos because I had colour in the holga and B&W in the lubi. I think the lubitel gives much more conventional results than the holga. The holga is just like going out with your drunken, sex craved mate........very unpredictable.

Ah, that is brilliant, I like the idea that you used it a lot!! I also like the idea that you are still using a lot of film, but I already knew that, nice to see it confirmed again.

The B&W en Colour thing explanation makes sense as well. And by the sound of it I definitely have to buy myself a Holga.

This one looks a little too dark but what the hell do I know my eyes aer 62 years old

photonig In reply to davincipoppalag [2010-03-05 20:38:55 +0000 UTC]

Actually, David, I'm glad you said that. The pictures I submit seem to be lighter when on dA, so I compensate by making them very slightly darker when I process them. This one I saved the original, and have changed the file. I think it is much better.
