He is a friend's cat. He doesn't even get yelled at. My black cat american shorthair gets yelled at, he's a Tazmanian Devil.

I would like to get a Maine Coon some day. Just have two cats now, the American Shorthair black cat Franky, and the Himalayan Eddy. Russian Blues are intelligent (Escape Artist), Lilac Point Siamese (friend's cat). is a favorite,

Maine Coons historically have frequently been ship's cats! Not necessarily as rat-catchers, but as the pets of captain's children etc. which is one reason they apparently spread along the coastline and harbour towns. Well.... at least, that is what I read in a learned book some time ago

I can HIGHLY recomment M/Coons! They are wonderful cats.
