While the idea and general execution as far as view points go, this photo stands out from the normal bridge shot with its feel. The dark, almost murky water, holding a dim reflection of the bridge imports the idea of the title into the mind of the viewer. It gives the feel of a swamp, where one does not know what is underneath the surface. The contrasting white structures in the distance are cleverly blurred out. Falling under the not very well visible part of the picture are the details of the top half of the bridge, just about the center point of the photo. This both avoids having too much detail overfilling the photo and distracting from the actual idea and also stops the eye from hovering over the buildings too much by following the detail and once again being distracted. The most important fragments of the photo (the close part of the bridge and the reflecting water) and positioned perfectly into two key points of the frame, but sadly not into the most powerful ones (following the golden-cut theory applied by Leonardo Da Vinci which gives 4 key points to any image, the top left one being the weakest other than the center and the bottom right being the strongest). Perhaps if the shot was taken from the other side, or even simply mirrored with any editing program it would have a better effect. All in all it's an image that carries a good idea, very good execution as far as theory goes, but perhaps can be overlooked because of its first impression, which when viewed plain simply is that of a simple bridge photo that everyone has done.
