Nice, perhaps you can make a tutorial on how to make that, because wow! I use 3ds max... and I can't seem to get any of my celestial objects to look this good... of course, I'm limited with map sizes, the most I can easily use are 8k maps... even then, it's pushing it sometimes, lol.

If you give me your email address, I can email you the basic file which has the particle system and whatnot. Would be a lot easier than writing a tutorial. You'll need to do some of the glows in post production to get the same effect though.

This is probably one of the best and most realistic looking suns I've ever seen! After I'm done with the majority of the planets I'm creating, I would like to start creating realistic looking stars! I know this would sound a little unusual coming from me.... But, would you tell me what program you used, and a few pointers on how to go about making something like this?

I did it completely in 3DS Max 2011; it's completely fractal and particle driven. If you're a max user I'd be more than happy to get you a copy of it.
