Description Apophysis Tutorial - Lightning and Beyond.

I decided to make this into a downloadable image upon request. Its the first tutorial i've made that was compiled in Photoshop. There are a couple of errors, but nothing too drastic.

Enjoy.

Cool tutorial. I've played around with it. I do have a question tho -- In step 4 which 2 triangles do you leave? That part confused me a bit.

Delete all transforms except for transform 1 and transform 2. It's best to go from the last transform 4, 5, 7, etc.) and work your way back, although I guess you could do it the other way as well and it would still work.

Thanks for taking a look!

No problem, I wish I had one that was a little more up to date, but I haven't had a chance to write one.

anjaleck In reply to Phoenix-22 [2007-02-04 05:47:05 +0000 UTC]

Hey... you HAVE one... That's the important thing! Not many bother to write one at all. Besides, I'm well enough versed with Apo to make it work with whatever version. *smiles*
Big hugs,
Anj

I have about 4 in various places, I think.

I'm not as knowledgeable about different styles as other artists, but I try to do my part for basic things. At the time, this tutorial was written right when the version with a final xform was released.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

anjaleck In reply to Phoenix-22 [2007-02-04 21:56:14 +0000 UTC]

*grin* I have four versions too, and would have had more if the old one's still worked after installing the new ones. It gets to be a bit of a pain when the newer version is released and doesn't work with any of the old scripts!

Antonio, =one-tough-one , has a link to a script converter on his journal page, but when I tried to use it I got an error message that I'm missing a dll to run it. Oh well... time for me to try something else! Nice opportunity to do some experimenting.

I'm not nearly as knowledgable as many others, but I'm learning!

Hugs,
Anj

I meant that I have 4 tutorials.

I think I have about 5 different versions that work, though there were more on my HD last week. I've had that missing .dll file come up for me, but it was a long time ago. I think I re-downloaded the 2.02 version or found the .dll file online, but I can't remember.

Thanks for the info on the dll and I will try what you say about the dll file. Sorry I confused myself about what you meant. Sometimes I wonder about me!

That's okay!

Have to throw in this link for the missing file, I may just have downloaded it off of dll.com:

Thank you so very much for the link! I got the file. However, now it is telling me to do something to the registry for the NETframe system. Since I have to upgrade to XP anyway (which I am very unhappy about - I use 2000 but the Norton upgrades are not being made for 2000 anymore... grrrrrrrrrr), I'll wait until I have that done before I do anymore.

Anj

Phoenix-22 In reply to anjaleck [2007-02-06 23:59:41 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the heads-up. I had to install the whole .NET framework anyway to run the few games that I have on my computer. Using Windows 2000 is becoming increasingly harder and harder, and I'm sure the same will happen to XP soon.

anjaleck In reply to Phoenix-22 [2007-02-07 04:18:54 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately, yes. I just had a horror of a time getting it installed on my computer. I finally took the dive today... and guess what? SNAFU. After two hours on the phone with MS tech support we are now installing XP through DOS. Sigh... At least it works, even if is a clean install and I probably won't be able to get on the Internet until tomorrow - after contacting my ISP (I lose all my settings). At least there wasn't much in My Documents to lose!

Anj

Ugh, that's horrible. The way I see it is to just be like everyone with XP, a clean install, download your essential programs, and use the internet. No time for fun, but at least it works.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

anjaleck In reply to Phoenix-22 [2007-02-08 04:22:14 +0000 UTC]

A clean install it was... through DOS, but I think the tech had David create another partition and didn't tell us how to get rid of the partially installed version... and all my 2000 files are still there! So weird!

Anj
