Description Finally had a day off work so drew this infront of the telly with cup o' tea.

Oh, please view this full size, it looks better.

Going to do a couple more of this style for my portfolio.

You did say pencil and photoshop, right...? Is it alright to ask you what technique you used so that you could color under your lineart? Most of my drawings are traditional, but whenever I edit them on PS so I can color it, the smaller, lighter lines disappear, and I had wished to keep even the tiiiniest of lines I had made.

Well, I don't know what method you're using to prepare your drawings. The way I do it is:
1) Scan in my drawing at very high quality, (you can always reduce it later).
2) adjust the levels on the scan, making the lines nice and dark and the backgroung nice and light.
3)change the layer style to multiply.

You can now paint underneath the original drawing. If this is how you are already doing it, I would just suggest making the original pencil lines darker before you scan or use the middle lever when adjusting the layers in order to darken those lighter lines. Also sometimes I will duplicate the lines layer and set them both to multiply, then I can either mask or erase the bits from the duplicate that I don't want.

Hope that helps

I love this piece, as well as your style. You're able to capture so much emotion behind a simple sketch only to deepen it with the addition of color. absolutely LOVE this

Thanks.

I've been trying to loosen up with my lines and do some more stripped down pieces.

you should look at some final fantasy 4 artwork, it's kind of feels like this but loving the helmet and armour, super duper feels to it

Thanks Nikster.

Yeah, I've seen loads of fantasy type films and shows recently and really wanted to draw something a bit final fantasy.

I'm going to draw some dragons next
