Description MURO-painted scene based on Frank Herbert's Dune novel.

Men gathering around a "spice patch", with a "carryall" floating transport hauling a heavy harvester.

Edit Aug 7th 2013: enhancement of the image's brilliance by adjusting curves with MURO.

This is great Philippe! Everything I try on Muro just looks like a kids picture! Well done!

Thank you, Delice The feature I'd like Muro to have more is a smudge tool. Also, there is a "pro" mode (versus "basic"), where you can add layers and play with their transparency and all.

It's my pleasure Philippe!
Yes a smudge tool would be a good idea I was surprised that there wasn't one

philippeL In reply to Aseamlessbonds [2011-08-04 16:15:08 +0000 UTC]

Maybe I should suggest them, or maybe they are developing a new version.

Aseamlessbonds In reply to philippeL [2011-08-05 12:16:22 +0000 UTC]

That would be a good idea, I would imagine that most people would like smudge included. I guess that people only know about future developments if they are beta testers I was going to do that, but with my pc being so awful I wouldn't know what were DA glitches or my pc's

philippeL In reply to Aseamlessbonds [2011-08-05 23:30:08 +0000 UTC]

Ah I guess that beta testers know better, you are right... On the other hand, I have no time for it, unfortunately, but I guess it unleashes some future "secrets"

Thanks, Ricky. MURO does not have a lot of features but I like those basic brushes they offer. Kinda cool

So what do you invisage the winged transport on the ground as,a people carrier?

You've captured the feeling of the extreme heat on the planet

this is great! I haven't mastered Muro yet.... I have all of Herbert's original Dune series... I also bought the one written by his son. didn't know you liked those

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

philippeL In reply to mytiko-chan-is-back [2011-07-19 21:00:08 +0000 UTC]

I liked the prequel from House Atreides to House Corrino, but less the prequel starting with the Jihad. I think it did not captured well the spirit of the Dune universe.
From F. Herbert books, I stopped at God-Emperor of Dune, but I plan to read the others someday.
Nowadays, I am into "A Game of Thrones" from RR Martin (peer pressure from colleagues - LOL). I enjoy it so far, but I will wait before watching the HBO series.

mytiko-chan-is-back In reply to philippeL [2011-07-31 00:59:34 +0000 UTC]

I've never read any of the prequels; some of the Herbert books were very difficult reading for me for some reason. I liked God-Emperor, it was amazing fantasy and I think he did create a character that spanned millenia and tried to show how boring (and lonely) a life could become that lived that long and knew 99% of the future LOL. He was very successful at that.

I will have to check out Game of Thrones. Is it as 'deep' as the Dune books?

philippeL In reply to mytiko-chan-is-back [2011-08-01 06:25:10 +0000 UTC]

The God-Emperor was the last one of the original series I have read. I may go on by reading the following ones one day.

Game of Thrones is deep in term of the relation between the numerous characters. There is no real emphasis on fantasy, although the action is located on an imaginary land on an imaginary epoch. My colleagues were so convincing about the series that I could not resist to start reading it.

wooow, nicely done. Frank Herbert's Dune. I remember the movie in the 80's and the Sci-Fi channel mini-series. The movie was cool but sloooooooow and migragne inducing LOL

Lannytorres In reply to philippeL [2011-07-14 02:28:15 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome. I haven't read it myself but I'm sure the novel is way better than the movie and TV re-interpretations
