This feels very much like a HDR shot to me with the detail and the "bloom" around the highlights. It serves to give the photograph a surreal look to me which I think enhances what you are trying to achieve.
I feel that this photograph is much about the motion that occurs between the tree and the sky as well as the fence and the tree line.
The composition is good though I feel that there is a bit more space on the left side and combined with the corner of the treeline and fence it makes that side a little too heavy. The placement of the tree in relation to the clouds is perfect.
For the most part the lighting is good though I feel that I would like to see a bit more highlights on the branches of the main tree. We only see a highlight on the trunk.
Overall though this is a very good photograph.
