Awesome Background.
Would you grant me permission to use it as the background for my iOS game I'm developing?
I would be sure to credit you for it in the App Store description.
Cheers,
Andrew

Very cool reminiscent of old cartoons, loved those BGs! Cutout background shapes and cool textures going on. Sweet stuff!

Maurice is one of my all time favorites. He was just the king of layout. Especially some of the Witch Hazel cartoons. A great one to look at is "Witch Hazel's Vanity" (I think thats the title) Man so good. And as far as realistic backgrounds go, I couldn't agree more with you. There is kinda this thing in cartoons where if you try to make something too real the audience can just tell that something is plastic and fake. But if you caricature and exaggerate and take things that normally would be just ordinary, and make them fantastic, than the audience accepts it easier. Maurice and Philip were great at that.
