Great to hear from you, Zoo! And thanks for such kind words. Yes, I'm succumbing slowly (and not without struggle ) and am trying to get my head around Apophysis. But I won't give up on FE or Sterling/TieraZon/Vchira - they're too much fun still!

Hope you're well and not still in compu-hell (I read your redbubble posts)...

They banned me!!!! and for defending my work... Pricks like us. Funny it only took one crusader who didn't get the piece to start flaming me. First on Rendo then on RB. Long story but I have stated my case to the Mods on RB. At least they are not a bunck of condescending Β΄'ricks' like those found on Rendo. Am hopeful they will see I had a case and had no alternatives there. I took every step to try and stop the flaming.. avoided their accounts etc. But in the absence of a ban member utility like they have here... and moderators who do not read their mail what can one do? Anyhow....

As for the compu... Back on 64bit again on the new rig. Installed and everything worked great. Until I installed the initial Vista SP2 service packs... the 50 or so pprior to IE8. On restarting I was back in hell. White screening, Windows explorer crashing etc. If there is a hardare issue as some tried to suggest it is only trggered by the application of Service Packs. On Mac I have never had an issue. I received Snow Leo for a present at the weekend, installed it in about a half an hour or so, all my files remained intact and exactly where they were... and I got some great new stuff... I am blown away by Quicktime 10 in particular! Whenever I will get the money to fix the graphics chip on the Mac though is another story altogether with the baby on the way in a few weeks from now.

DonΒ΄t give up on the Β΄lesserΒ΄apps. I love the likes of MBF, Vchira and Tierazon... and of course fraxplorer (despite being basic, I have done what I consider to be some of my best fractal work with it). I miss Quadrium though... Hope to do another tut soon, overdue I know.

Keep knocking them dead with these fine pieces my friend!

They banned you? Are they out of their minds? I sometimes just don't get what the mods do and what their reasoning is.....

Will be getting Snow Leopard soon, might wait for the first update in case there are things that need ironing out first, although you sound happy with it! Am hoping now that Glenn will update all the Quadrium apps, which he was planning to do when Snow L was available.

Am off now for a couple of weeks so will get back to fractal work later in the month...

Cheers!

Enjoy the break... You going to travel????

I got the impression that Glenn had his energies steered more towards mobile apps for iPhone. I sent him a couple of mails some time ago about some very buggy renders in Q2... I think using SinQ. When you see the fractal it has some great looking lines and stuff on it but when you render, regardless of antialiasing settings etc, the result is a flat image with no lines.. I would love to see a fix forthis as hopefully the pieces I am referring to might one day get renderes as they should be.

I had one or two other issues too but checking back pn the site I havenΒ΄t seen anything posted to suggest he will develop the apps further. Real shame as I really have taken to Q2 in particular. Wish prime was a lot faster though. And as mentioned I hope to do a few more tuts on Q2 as well as promote it!

Thanks - I'm lucky enough to have to travel to Europe for a week for work, and I can add on a week in France as holiday, which will be very welcome as I haven't been back to Europe for a year now.

Yes, Glenn told me he had been up to the gizzards in iPhone apps, but I'm hoping that his hints will bear fruit and that he won't let the Quadrium apps languish. Would also be really great if you did get time for more tuts one day as that would open it up a little more for those of us who would like to continue with it But with baby on the way I'm sure your time is at a premium!!!
