Cool creature! Is this critter something you made up or from a certain myth?

Thanks! It is a cryptid, a well-known urban legend. Here's further information about it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sh…

You're welcome! The cryptid is a fascinating creature, I wonder if J.K. Rowling was influenced by that creature because it reminds me of The Grim from The Prisoner of Azkaban.

Actually, the Grim is a legend that existed long before Rowling. The Grim is very similar to the Black Shuck, and both legends have been circulating in Britain for hundreds of years. The Grim of Rowling is inspirted by pre-existing legends of the Grim.

It blows my mind how you can shade so beautifully with watered-down paints. I don't know very much about the Black Shuck--I swear you've told me before, but I don't remember. What's the story behind this fella? I'm especially curious about that third eye he has.

It is a challenge to get it to look nice, but when it does.... it looks alright. I can say that the scanner never quite does the technique justice. The Black Shuck is a cryptid, much like The Grim. It's a big black dog with flaming eyes that attacks people, and at other times it guides people to safety. Some stories say it has a single eye on its forehead so I'm just staying close to the source material.

This is very beautiful, I always love your use of ink and curve lines in the composition!

Thanks, and thanks for taking the time to comment on my art. I know I've been inactive lately.

My computer doesn't interface with dA very well anymore, and so I can't comment on your Lars character sheet even though I want to. I'll just have to do it here instead. Maybe the book little Lars is reading is a Japanese or Taiwanese book. They're printed like that because of the right to left format of the languages.
