Description I say king... but it's just as likely that it's a queen salamander.
People suggested I try something with bright colours. It didn't turn out as bright as I thought it would. Gotta keep working on that.

Huh, I must have missed this one, it's great, I think! I really like the concept.

This is cool! He looks like he's dancing, or kind of like a Hindu god! And I think these colors are pretty bright compared to your other drawings/paintings. I know blue isn't a bright color, but the light blues and orange make him brighter.

Blue isn't a bright colour? D:

I thought it was.

I guess my world is just that starved of colour. Anything that isn't black or grey is bright to me.

I guess it depends on your perspective on color, the way I see it, the oranges, reds, and yellows are bright colors, and the blues, greens, and purples are dark colors. (and that includes black and gray for dark colors too!) But I agree with you, when you limit your colors, using a color you don't use that much may seem brighter then your usual color scheme!

Yet things can be dirty yellow and not be bright at all. Yellows, reds and oranges are considered "warm" colours, while blues etc. are considered "cool" colours, but it doesn't necessarily speak to their brightness.

Yep, that's true too! Every color is different in terms of brightness or darkness!

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS IT'S SO BRIGHT AND AMAZING

I love intense colors like this. I'm notorious for working straight out of the tube when I paint, so I really take a liking to this style. I love how you've thrown a bit of six-armed-Hindu-goddess-ness in there, too, just to change things up a bit. His/her hands are so dainty and lovely. :3

I want to poke that squishy tail. >w<

Awwww. It's not supposed to have anything to do with the Hindu goddess. I knew it was inevitable that someone try to make that connection though. :/ What happened, was that I was sketching hands on the same page as a dragon, and it looked like the hands were coming out of its back. I thought that seemed pretty cool, so I drew this picture. The unfortunate choice of colour came about simply because blue is the complimentary colour to orange. XD

Yesss. I do like how the folds in their tail came out.

Aww, I'm sorry... X'D There are only two things that six arms remind me of: Hindu goddesses and insects. I don't think it takes away from the drawing, though. And for the record, I don't think that the color is unfortunate in the slightest. I think you oughtta play with colors more often. :3

WAIT

WAIT

Well, the colour is unfortunate because it is the same colour as the Hindu goddess Kali. XD Nggg. And all I wanted was a colour that went well with orange.

Nope noep nope, I don't like it anymore. So there. Don't know what you're talking about.

Oh. I'm not familiar with Hindu gods/goddesses, so I didn't catch that. XD

>w> Too late. It already went down in history.

I think it's colorful! I mean, it's blue mostly but it's a very pretty shade and not seen often in your works.
