Alternate Title: "I'm No Monster"

For those who are in the Zelda OC club and you weren't heer for this RP.... you missed a freakin' good one. :0

Ok.... now for the explaination...

As you may know, Spheira has the ability to melt into shadows and move freely within the "shadow zone", as I have called it. We had yet to know HOW he could use them.... he's just a Hylian boy fighting for the cure for his sister's illness. We never questionedwheer he got that particular power.... we just acknowledged its existance.
Then along came Dark Link.
During a particularly tense argument between Kern and Dark, Spheira stepped in to stop the two after Dark had explained the existance of the shadow kin-- a race of creatures, like himself, who have the ability to use the shadows for their own advantages whether it be to heal themselves or to cause the destruction of others.
Dark, of course, became annoyed with Spheira's obstinance and decided to try to scare the boy by melting into the shadows and appearing behind Spheira. Spheira never flinched, and instead did the same... surprising Dark in the process.
Dark couldn't understand how Spheira could manipulate shadows like himself.... I mean... he was HYLIAN. not one of the magnificent shadow kin. and then he came to the realization of what Spheira was.

"You.... you're no hylian, boy.... you are--WERE-- one of us..."Smirking, he said with a lucid voice, "Before a shadowbeast can become a light dweller, he must slay thousands, cause pain and suffering for many, and feed off of that energy" he paused to remember the exact story, still smirking all the while, during which Spheira began to protest against what he had said and the other agreeing with him. "I was born as SPHEIRA. The HYLIAN. I'm no 'shadowbeast' or whatever." he said with a slight waver in his voice. After a few minutes Dark began again. "Oh, but you see, that wasn't his name before then. From what I can recall, the only explination for it is that he was once the one known as..Abyss." Spheira, shocked, again denied this, stating he was born of two hylian parents. He could never be a monster... "It has to be," said Dark with and evil grin, "The only others who can use the shadow techniques come by it through magic and bone breaking training, and they are all through the Sheikah clan." Spheira flinched and Dark who, seeing the shock appear on his face, pointed at him with a look that eminated pure menace. "Deny it all you'd like boy," he cackled. "You are the incarnation of Abyss."

I had sooooo much fun drawing this, you have NO idea.
I'm so glad Mel came up with such a freaking sweet backgroud story for Spheira... what's creepy is that it ALL fit perfectly.
It explained why Spheira was able to manipulate shadows and all sorts of other fun stuff. :3

Abyss' markings have no particular meaning, minus the upside-down triforce on his head (which I have taken to calling the "anti-force" .... -bricked-)
I wanted them to kinda be like Twili markings... I figure the shadow kin are related, although it mightbe loosely, to the Twili in some way.
Also, I realize Abyss' proportions are wack. That's because the shadow kin have the ability to change shape to some extent... plus he's only supposed to be HUMANOID. I mean, he's not an all-powerful "shadowbeast" for nothing, right? :3

Waaaaahhhh!~
So now, you know.

hurg.... this also might explain why Ganondorf hired SPHEIRA of all people to kill the Hero of Time.... he seems to like to keep people of great power (Eber Sruc, Katiu, etc.) close to him....

hehe, Spheira's in perma-denial. X3
