Next time you should use a tripod to get a longer exposure. Also focusing on the sakura and not the bridge would be ideal.
I'm sure the scene was beautiful but this photo looks like a blurry snapshot.

I completely agree. I've been too stingy on buying camera stuff and haven't gotten around to buying a tripod yet. I had to set my camera on a bench so it was difficult to get what I wanted. Thanks for the advise.

Have you tried manual focus? Auto focus never gets what you want it to.
