One of those familiar faces on many television shows from the 1950s to 1980s, who you knew but rarely knew the name of. He also appeared in films (he was a police officer in "Helly Dolly" who confronts "Cornelius Hackyl" (Michael Crawford) in a park, singing "It Only Takes A Moment" to Irene Molloy (Marianne MacAndrew) in the 1969 film musical). He also was a late semi-regular on "Maude" as the elderly suitor "Burt" of the housekeeper "Mrs. Naugatuck" (Hermoine Baddeley).

Saw him as an Indian medicine man on an episode of the 1960's cavalry comedy "F Troop" yesterday. He seemed to be filling in for Edward Everett Horton who usually played the part.
