Perna Studios is very excited to announce our twelfth trading card set entitled Creatures of Myth and Legend. This set will focus on creatures from myths and legends like Bigfoot, the Mothman, the Jersey Devil, Loch Ness Monster, the Chupacabra and many more with a few creatures from mythology added into the mix like Hippocampus, Kelpie, Manticore etc....

(The presale for the Creatures of Myth and Legend sets will be in May 2019 and released in early June 2019).

This awesome sketch art card of a Manticore is drawn by the very talented artist Mike Rooth for our Creatures of Myth and Legend trading card set.

Manticore - is a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx that proliferated in western European medieval art as well. It has the head of a human or a lion, body of a lion and a tail of venomous spines similar to porcupine quills, while other depictions have it with the tail of a scorpion. There are some accounts that the spines can be shot like arrows, thus making the manticore a lethal predator. It eats its victims whole, using its triple rows of teeth, and leaves no bones behind.
