has a guide about that, but I'm afraid you will find it a bit complicated, as it involves multiple tools and procedures:
.XPS to .TMC a ''meh'' guideHow to convert/port from XPS to TMC, it may or may not work for you, this is a method that I've been using for all those previous DOAX3/VV mods.
I'll be using:
-Blender 2.77(portable version, I'm using a laptop for all of this, and yeah, it sucks.), I think it has the same functions as recent and previous versions. I'll be using, .XPS import addon, .TMC import addon, .tmcmesh import/export addon(not included in blender default addons, google for them)
-TMC Object Tool
-TMC Insert Tool
-Texture Tool
-Paint.NET
-Timmy's DOA5 Obj Tmc Converter V0.5.2
-LR Photo Studio(optional)
-a couple of TMC files of costume models, extracted from the game.
-TMC files from Nude Mod from Harry Palmer
This mod will not include physics for the bikini ribbons/strings, they'll be rigged at the body. Edit them to have their proper physics is something that I'm still trying, with no good results.
First, you'll need a TMC file as a reference, for this I'll be using files from the Harry Palmer Nude mod, I'll cho

Yes, of course, you can even share your port to other characters in deviantart if you want; no problem, just check that they work fine , sometimes you can get weird deformations or overlappings with the transform tool.

You can't do that in blender, you have to use TMC object and TMC texture tool

Technically the inspiration image is by Hitori09 but it was commisioned and can be found on Gojiro7 furaffinity account page; currently the full set is around page 13 if you're doing 72 per page
just as a warning most of the rest of their stuff (for both) can get pretty weird/freaky, so just a heads up
this is the image

You make a diamond mesh stocking in the GIMP?

peresabcod In reply to repinscourge [2019-08-21 12:28:10 +0000 UTC]
No, I use an a program called Fireworks, from Adobe, quite outdated but it's perfect for this kind of things. Btw, If you're interested in mesh patterns I have dozens of them created or extracted from real clothing by myself and made seamless & with alpha transparency

I definitely have not heard of such a program. You know, I will be very grateful if you share such resources with me.

It was oriented to web design mostly, a cross between a vector and bitmap editing program.
I have collected most of the textures I've created, take a look at them:

Wow! What I didn't expect at all - to see so many seamless textures. I think that they can find a wide variety of applications, up to displace modifier.
Thank you very much for sharing.

And I'm mostly looking for patterned lace and a rhombus-like pattern, because I can’t do it in the GIMP, although I tried “Mosaic” + “Rotate 90 degrees”.

Try using the pattern fill in Gimp. All you need is have a single tessel you want to repeat and export to gimp's pattern folders as a .pat file, then you select it in the bucket fill tool fill type and that's it. As for creating geometric patterns, have you tried with a vector program, like Inkscape ( inkscape.org)? It should be easy to create a single geometric motiv there, and export it to png and then to .pat

Previously, when I needed to fill something with a seamless texture, I painted it in a gimp, 64x64 or 128x128; selected this picture, clicked copy, and when "filling with texture" chose the "clipboard", and there the last one was just what I needed.
