A study of an actual apple. Done in GIMP. Time allotted was about 4 hours.
I wanted to create a realistic painting, but ended up with this... so, I'm pretending that this is how I actually intended it to look like in the first place.
Anyway, I created this painting in order to learn how to do highlights and color variations. I mainly used airbrush and smudge. The painting ended up having a soft feel to it (sorta like when oil pastel is used).
