You are right in the sense that mere organs do not make a person a Priest. Being a male is intrinsically more. Aristotle recognizes this when he refers to something possessing an innate nature- it's substance- which goes far beyond appearances- it's accident. For this reason a man who, say, is involved in an accident which handicaps him sexually would still be considered a man.
Β You do need to be a man to be a Priest, however. Dissent inΒ this is dissent from core Catholic teaching, and as such would make a person a Modernist. scripturecatholic.com/the_prieβ¦
Β You should read the Church Fathers on this matter. The fact is that a truly faithful Catholic must recognize that man - hence the Priest and not Priestess- commands greater authority. This has been taught from the Church down through the ages. It sounds taboo in the modern "sexually liberated" world, but it is still true regardless.
Β Β But while women cannot be Priests, let us not forget that the greatest human to have ever lived outside of Jesus was female- Mother Mary.

I know a friend who has a woman as their church priest. She took me to her church once after we had a sleepover and their priest was very nice and it was pretty much the same as any other mass with a male priest I've attended.Β

Your argument that the Church's position is outdated reveals your pride and heresy. Go be Episcopalian or Anglicant you dare say that to change the doctrines of the only single Church which has stood by Jesus Christ's teachings the most faithfully, yes even with all our human mistakes, would be better simply because it is a new era. God created time, and whenever he willed a change in how he wanted us to carry out his word he spelled it out for us (like Peter and the non-kosher food). Jesus upheld marriage, life, and the principle of respecting the differences between men and women.
Men and women were both created in the image of God, however, we are also different, and God tells us we are different again and again. You have swallowed the modern feminist lie. As a Catholic young woman I will pray for your discernment.

This is one of the many things that makes me ashamed of my religion. If Jesus' apostles were all Jewish, then why do well let Catholics be Priests? Or Europeans, Americans, Africans, Latinos, and people from parts of Asia that aren't in the Middle East if Jesus was from Israel?
Besides, if Priests in the RCC take a vow of celibacy, WHY THE FUCK IS A PENIS NEEDED?!

Personally, I think you do.
Women in the church are Nuns,
and it is stated in the Bible that women are mere tools.
Used for breeding.
And plus,
if women could be priests,
the Roman Catholic Church couldn't molest the young boys.

You don't have to be a priest in order to contribute to Mass, women have a different place in the Church but it is still one that is respected and needed.
