A very personal commission for ~Inu-Ashi . It was really an honour to work on, though I must admit it took far longer to complete than it should have.

This makes me think back to when I was only a child, when my dads dog died, she had a heart attack or a stroke, because she was overweight, we always spent so much time walking her and working with her to help her loose weight, but my mom hated the dog and would make us leave her with my grandfather who spoiled her with too many table scraps, my dad is a very strong man and I have never seen him cry, even then, but he sat with her, we layed her gentaly in her bed and he sat with her petting her and conferting her till the end, he still gets a sad look in his eyes if she's ever mentioned, he hasn't gotten another dog since

I just came across this again, touches me every time. My companions are feline but they're children and its always hard thinking of when they won't be with me. Well, there's always the afterlife = )

I just would want to do more than a fav on this, I just love that drawing, it's really powerful, and its emotional message is more than that, what it inspires is a mix between sadness and self recognition, it just inspires me a deep respect.
It somewhat remember me some events.
Really well done, that's a rare treasure to add to my favs !

This picture made me cry a little.
It's always difficult to lose a pet.
My german shephard is really old, 11 years old, and I always have this feeling that she is going to lay down soon, to never get up.
She is both blind and deaf, and that's not really a worthy life for a dog, but at least she is happy.
This made me remember the good times I've had with her.

This was exactly how I felt when Wishbone, my first dog, passed away last year. This is beautiful! Everything about is is extrodinary from the way the light shining through the window and reflects off the fur, the detail of the saddness that is expressed is beautiful!
