Description "They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam"

- "For the Fallen" Laurence Binyon

Today, November 11, 2018 mark the centenary of the Armistice which ended the First World War. Known as The Great War in 1918, around 20 million people lost their lives and 21 million more wounded and maimed throughout the war. It's a very special occasion that should and must be remembered, as there are no more of those who have lived to see it alive today.

It's sad how the last surviving veterans of that war have long since passed and never lived to see the 100th anniversary. Then again, the chances of that happening would've been a long stretch. Still, 100 years has passed since the end of the Great War. I researched how life in the trenches was brutal without the bullets flying. Outside the trenches, the war also brought upon various changes, such as the end of the Ottoman Empire and the Russian Czar.

The war was literally a ticking time-bomb waiting to happen, with so many powerful European countries bordering each other making everybody wary. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand lit the fuse and everyone expected a quick victory, but instead it turned into trenches, various countries joining in, and the war just simply turning into a struggle to see who would tire out first. The war however did pioneer air combat and submarine warfare.

100 years have passed since the end of that war, which only sparked future conflicts for years to come. Great picture depicting this event.

also if you stated the americans were rabbits, why is the rabbit shaking the hand of the german troop wearing a brodie helmet, which is the standard issue for British Troops, Not muricans. Nice piece still.

Americans during the First World War wore Doughboy helmet which is basically the British Brodie helmet. It's the same thing just different name. The more iconic M1 steel pot wouldn't come in to use until 1941.

Very, very well done. My great grandfather was a fan of Richard Adams, and so would have appreciated this.

Can I ask why you portrayed the British as rats?
As a descendant of a man who had to have one of his legs amputated following a rat bite at the Battle of Messines, it seems a little insulting.

The art style is based on Motofumi Kobayashi's Cat Shit One which portrayed Americans as Rabbits(The Japanese word usagi means rabbit), British as Rats(Desert Rats), Germans as Foxes(Desert Fox) and so on.
